Our main challenges were timings – a 14 day turnaround that was reduced to just 6 days – and the brief to redesign the workspace so that we could make it work for up to 60 workstations.

Spredfast is a successful and fast-growing global company, providing enterprise-level social media marketing and management solutions.

Their London team needed to move out of their current serviced offices and had found new office space in Covent Garden. The occupants were in the process of moving out, but there were still several years available on the lease.

Our main challenges were timings and the brief to redesign the workspace so that we could make it work for up to 60 workstations, instead of the previous occupant’s floorspace configuration which was set up for just 25.

In terms of timings, 14 days had been allowed for the refurbishment works and the relocation. However, the outgoing tenant’s works to their new offices overran. As Spredfast had to move out of the serviced offices on a set date, that left us with just 6 days to complete everything!

We tapped into our project management expertise to pull everything together, greatly assisted by our team of trusted contractors, working across many disciplines, who had worked together over the years. A good measure of patience and sympathy with each other while they completed their respective scope of works smoothed the whole process.

Our scope of works included:

  • Redesign the workspace
  • Supply and install desks for 40 staff (Phase 1)
  • Remove partitions no longer required
  • Open up a tea point and install additional worktops and cupboards
  • Relocate, reconfigure and test floor boxes, power and structured cable
  • Supply and lay Amtico style wood plank flooring and 100m2 of carpet tiles
  • Decorate all damaged |surfaces
  • Relocate Spredfast to their new offices

So, did we hit our 6-day deadline?

Of course we did! We started the works at 7.30am on the Saturday morning and had relocated the client out of their old and into their new and refurbished offices on the Friday, just 6 days later.

We then used the weekend to test all services and thoroughly clean the space so that it was ready for staff to begin work right after the weekend.
